Twenty Twenty "Oregon Pinot Noir"
Jess Miller, Twenty Twenty, 2020
The Wine: An Oregon Pinot Noir. A classic done in a natural way. The rolling hills of the Willamette Valley are known for great Pinot, and "Twenty Twenty" is no exception. The smell is of slight oak mixed with fresh peppercorn. The taste is amazingly textured yet light, dark fruit forward with the perfect gentle tannins that make Pinot Noir so delicious and so food friendly. This 2020 patch had to be harvested early because of a wildfire that was fast approaching the vineyard, but the fruit still comes through beautifully. Magically done.
The Winemaker: Jess Miller is the real deal. She has trained in the Loire with some of the most famous French natural winemakers and is the English translator for a very famous French pruning guide book. She started out as a true micro-winemaker, with her first vintage being only 4 barrels of wine! The wine she makes is some of the best in Oregon.
